Green fern botanical study plate poster

Green fern poster, “WILD GREEN” botanical study plate

A single fern takes center stage on this botanical plate: a tall green frond springs from a small tuft, with a brown frond behind it and 2 fronds unfurling on each side. The fine, precise drawing recalls naturalists’ studies, with a few small leaves at the base that balance the composition. Behind it, rows of green and ochre foliage stretch beneath a pale blue sky dotted with clouds, which sets off the fern’s vivid green. The title “WILD GREEN” accompanies this simple, airy landscape-format image, which highlights the cut shape of the leaflets.

A fern plate for a calm, natural interior

In landscape format, it sits happily above a bed, a desk, a console or a bathtub. Its greens, soft ochre and pale blue sky suit white or beige walls, natural wood, linen and matte ceramics. It can start a series with other botanical plates hung side by side, or stand alone to bring a touch of greenery to a understated room. It makes a thoughtful gift for a gardener, someone who collects shade plants or a loved one decorating a home in natural tones.
